  • Sustainability Measure

People are habituated to use toilets but, there are a few issues on quality of existing toilets. Most of the old existing toilets in rural villages are single pit and facing difficulties on evacuation after filled- up. Now, they need to construct a new pit for having double pits toilet and use the pit one after. So, no need to problems on evacuation after filling the single pit. Beneficiaries are able to evacuate the night soils and use as quality manure in agriculture.

DCBS organizes series of awareness generation sessions among the members or borrowers on WASH practices in collaboration with local gram panchayats block offices and others. It has been reported that all members in the supported families are using toilets and repaying their loan amount with installment timely. It has also been reported that insufficient water facilities are still one of the major challenges for using toilets. Therefore, DCBS is planned to support more families on creation or development of water resources with renovation of existing toilets in near future.
